The common painful experience all the computer users get is the slowdown of the computer. There is simply no other option but to keep waiting. The most common culprit for this slowdown is the case of the system memory being stretched to limit. Now there is a solution to all this, a software called ‘Memory diag’.  For the  users of Mac computer who are interested in keeping close eye and control the memory usage, this software Memory Diag will assist in big way.

Rock Sand Studio has developed this app, and this app Memory Diag is now available free for the limited time, available in the Mac App Store. This app provides details of memory usage graphically; the app shall highlight those apps that are using major chunk of memory storage space. This enables the user to optimize the memory resources of the computer easily.

After installation of this app, there appears a small icon on the menu bar itself. Click on this to open up the vital information through gauge that shows the memory statistics: file cache, wired memory, compressed memory, and the app memory. These stats are the same as that one can view on Activity monitor, but in the app this same info can be easily accessible from the menu bar and is displayed with a colorful gauge.  At the center of the gauge is the pointer that shows current memory pressure.

On clicking the optimization button, Memory diag will attempt to restore the Mac computer to the state after system start by lowering the compressed memory, and emptying caches, such optimization is noted to speed up the computer. This app also clears the deck before running demanding app, so that optimal amount of memory is available. This app will also help by clearing the caches left behind  after usage of memory –intensive app use.

If a particular app is being run that is hogging huge memory resources the optimize button shall be disabled  by a big exclamation mark, showing that the Mac computer has reached in particularly high pressure situation , and the chances of the computer further slowing down loom large.
